Re-skim is ideal for any internal area that needs freshening up, whether it be to create a new base to decorate on or for a fresh coat of plaster to replenish the old.
Board and finish
This method tends to be used on new builds and extensions. It requires the plasterboard to be fixed to the blockwork directly and given time to dry . The joints are then taped before the skim finish is applied for a smooth and sturdy result. There is the choice of using specialised boards to add either sound, fire or damp proofing.
Bond and Finish
Bond and finish offers an alternate to the board and finish option. This method uses a wet base that once dried forms a firm background, this is best used in areas that may be exposed to moisture such as Kitchens and bathrooms as it can provide a more durable area against such conditions.
