Screed in Grimsby

We have a longstanding partnership with Cyden Homes and we have always appreciated their business.  Cyden Homes is an award winning house builder who help first time buyers and people who are looking to sell their house. They assist customers with the government-supported Help to Buy scheme. They needed screeders  in Grimsby, working with them installing fast drying screed, for which we used Keracem Eco.

Cyden Homes Project

The most recent project we worked on with them is a small domestic project where we laid screed onto previously prepared insulation.  Screed in Grimsby required a a fast drying option for this project. This helped us reduce program time and allowed us for floor coverings to be laid quickly.

We used Keracem Eco in this project. Keracem Eco is a certified eco-friendly, hydraulic, normal setting and rapid drying mineral binder. It is used for high performance screeds and heat radiant slabs.

Using Keracem Eco allowed light foot traffic only after 8 hours. Because this is a fast drying screed, ceramics can be laid even after only 24 hours. Resilient and wood can be installed only after 5 days after laying the screed. Underfloor heating can also be turned after only 3 days.

We site batched the Keracem Eco and mixed the screed using a Putzmeister M760 . We reduced labour effort when mixing the screed by using a skip and scraper for this Grimsby screed.

John Owen Aggregates delivered the sand via a tipper truck. Half of the sand was placed in vessel followed by Keracem Eco, water and Adfil Fibrin 660F.

Adril Fibrin 660F

Adfil Fibrin is a fibre is a polypropylene fibre that reduces occurrence of plastic shrinkage cracking and plastic settlement. It also enhances surface properties and the durability of hardened cement products.

The second half of the sand is then added into the vessel before mixing begins. The screed is pumped to the exact location where it is required. After that, the installers lay the screed to provided datums.
